Talent Pipelining & Salary Benchmarking

Talent Pipeline - Occupational Rehabilitation Consultants

The Project

A large Australian Health Services company in a significant expansion stage was seeking a trusted partner to support their growth strategy.  The business have a national footprint with locations in every major city and service many regional locations.  Due to the finite number of unique allied health staff required for their business and the fierce competition for talent, the business often encounter recruitment challenges in many of their city and regional locations.

The business wanted to build an effective talent pipeline for the future to combat the ongoing difficulty with attracting talent for the NSW and NT regions.  The business also wanted to benchmark their salary, benefits and leave entitlements on offer with the market.  The company had recently rebranded after bringing four existing businesses under the one umbrella and were interested in building awareness of the new brand in the Australian market.

Universe were engaged to partner with the CEO, Head of HR, Head of Talent and NSW & SA/NT State Managers to support the company’s growth strategy and build a strong pipeline of talent, while promoting the brand and story to the market.

The Solution

Universe built a strong talent pipeline for the NSW and NT regions, by first identifying target organisations in each region with relevant allied health professional staff, including direct competitors, hospitals, private practice, insurers, health companies and government agencies.  Our expert research team constructed a comprehensive map of over 500 potential targets for each region, utilising a mix of desk research and networking.  Universe systematically engaged with the target talent market and built a pipeline of qualified talent for current and future appointments.

Following conversations with interested prospective targets, Universe provided candidate reports, resumes and facilitated meetings for those open to a move for current vacancies.  Weekly updates provided data on the pipeline as it grew, detailing anyone open to conversations with the business for a potential move in the future.  This included notes around skillset, qualifications, mobility, career motivations, timing for a move, salary/package, leave entitlements and contact details.

The company was presented with a final report for each region including detailed data, insights, key findings, challenges, trends and recommendations as well as data for remuneration, benefits and leave entitlements.  Tailored data analytics and insights were presented to the leadership team highlighting gender split, top companies by discipline and location and competitor intelligence, highlighting recent moves in each region.

The Result

The CEO and business leaders commended Universe for providing high quality market insights, informing key decision-making as part of their growth strategy.  The profile of the business has increased and continues to grow nationally.  Universe created a strong pipeline of talent across NSW and NT and thus far the Health Services company have appointed several new staff members across both regions from the project.
